IPplan

IPplan is a practical tool for managing your IP addresses and the DNS administration through a beautiful web-based interface.
As other tools generally manage the DNS administration, this tutorial will focus on the IP management side of IPplan.

Among all the IP management functionalities available with IPplan, we can highlight:

- The possibility to create users with appropriate rights.
- A good audit log.
- Statistics about the used IP addresses.
- Search capabilities.
- Scanning capabilities to check DNS changes or used IP addresses with NMAP.

Unfortunately, we can regret the lack of hierarchical subnet management. In fact, it is not possible to progressively subnet networks and have a tree view.
Despite the latter, IPplan stands as the best open source IP management tool we've met so far.
